The Alcantara Gorge is a true natural wonder in Sicily, created by the volcano Etna.

For those who don’t fancy a swim, there’s also the Alcantara Creek, where you can walk into the narrow (in many places 1.5-2m) and 50m high rock walls, fall behind the waterfalls that cascade down from above and admire the beauty of this rare natural wonder.

The 50-metre deep gorge can be reached on foot in about 10 minutes by stairs, or you can take the lift (cost about €13).
